JOB SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager is a highly experienced engineer with a deep understanding of their specific field and a general understanding of other engineering related fields. The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing, evaluating, and participating in the process design, detailed engineering, costing, drafting, documentation, specifications, and procurement of various projects from start to finish. They are also responsible for developing and mentoring junior engineers and setting the technical direction for their team or organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Execute and oversee the development and design of large-scale water and wastewater treatment projects. They are responsible for ensuring that projects are well-planned and executed. They are responsible for developing process designs, detailed engineering, equipment costings, drawings, and procurement. The role requires coordination and management of other engineers and managing the day-to-day progress of projects.
- Should have general knowledge of many engineering disciplines, mechanical, process, instrumentation / electrical and civil along with being more of an expert in their core educational discipline.
- Responsible for developing and mentoring engineers, building a highly functioning team of engineers.
- Use their knowledge and experience to set the technical direction for their team and organization.
- Identify new trends and technologies and develop strategies for using these technologies to improve the team's or organization's products or services.
- Understand complex engineering problems and develop and implement solutions to these problems.
- Lead and motivate teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the commercial (sales) development of water and wastewater treatment solutions.
- Plan, formulate, and perform engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives involving conventional types of plans and specifications.
- Ability to analyze design alternatives to present a cost-effective solution.
- Interact with clients on projects to manage engineering and project needs.
- Reviews equipment for regulatory compliance, safety, and compatibility with the expected use.
- Must be capable of working on multiple projects autonomously without supervision.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ME, ChE, Electrical, or Civil) from an accredited, four-year university
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Highly competent in interrogating supplier’s equipment packages to determine the suitability of the supplier’s package for the project in question, establishing the performance requirements for the equipment packages and determining the required supplier guarantees for the equipment packages.
- Strong understanding of the various processes associated with water and wastewater engineering and the engineering requirements of these processes.
- Highly competent in reading, understanding, and generating P&IDs for the water and wastewater industry.
- Expertise in EICA engineering
- Highly competent in reading, understanding, visualizing, and generating layout drawings for the water and wastewater industry.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team to develop technical and commercially viable solutions to meet our Clients' requirements.
- Highly competent in mentoring junior engineers respectfully and completing peer reviews objectively and constructively.
- Ability to function in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook,
- Experience in Water/Wastewater, Chemical/Refining and Food/Beverage is preferred.
- PE or other certifications is a plus.
